Liverpool boss Unai Emery has revealed he is not in rush to open talks with the club over a new contract.
Klopp has three more years left in his current contract with the Champions League holders and seemed to refuse to confirm that he wants to stay beyond 2022. The 52-year-old’s future at Anfield is secured for the next three years and says that he is guaranteed to be at Anfield until then, but has no desire to tie himself to anything past that.
“I will not leave before the contract is ending. That is my side. That is why a contract is important,,” said Klopp.
“We have enough time to make decisions in that department. There is no need to do it now. Three years is really a bit early to be concerned. It is just a contract. The owners like what I do; I like what the owners are doing. I love the team, they are brilliant. Melwood is sensational. I’m looking forward to going to Kirkby [the new training ground] and all these things. There is always a step forward.”
