Following the departure of Vincent Kompany, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has admitted that they are looking for a new center-back.
City have been linked with Leicester City defender Harry Maguire in the current transfer window but have faced stiff competition from their cross-town rivals Manchester United. Kompany left the club to join Anderlecht as a player-manager, leaving City a player short in the central defense.
Speaking in a press conference ahead of their clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Guardiola revealed that they need a center-back, "We will see. We are looking for some names but at the same time we have three center-backs who can play there and we have two young players in the second team who can help us.
"We shall see if the market is possible and the club believes we can spend that money, but if they don’t, we shan’t spend it."
