Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic has dismissed the talk that he joined the Blues as a replacement for Eden Hazard.
Hazard joined Real Madrid at the end of the season and Pulisic says he arrives at the Stamford Bridge as his ‘own player’. The 20-year-old signed for the Premier League side from Borussia Dortmund for a reported fee of £57.6m in January but was loaned back to the Bundesliga side until summer.
"I'm not here to compare or anything. Obviously, Eden was amazing and he did so well for this club, as you could see last season and the whole time he's been here. He was an incredible player,” he told Sky Sports.
"For me, it's coming in as my own player, proving myself and doing the best I can to help this team,” he added.
Pulisic played for 25 minutes of Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to Kawasaki Frontale in their third pre-season match.
