Manchester United made it three victories in their pre-season tour after edging out Inter Milan 1-0 courtesy of a goal from Mason Greenwood in the International Champions Cup.
Solskjaer's men started strongly pressing high up the pitch and forcing Inter to mistakes as they recovered possession easily. United's first chance of the game came in the 14th minute when Luke Shaw fired in a long-range effort from 25 yards out that narrowly missed the mark.
United went close again at the stroke of the half-hour mark when Shaw overlapped in the left flank to set up Marcus Rashford with the ball but Serie A Goalkeeper of the Season, Samir Handanovic got his hand onto the ball that took the ball just beyond Marcus Rashford who was ready to tap the ball into the open net.
Inter could have made United pay for missing their chances in the 38th minute when a corner played short to Brozovic, was floated to the back post but Danilo D'Ambrosio's header failed to hit the target after David De Gea came out to deal with the cross but missed.
Second half chances
Lingard had a brilliant chance to break the deadlock in the 51st minute when Martial threaded in a neat through ball to him but his shot was cleared off the line. United then found the woodwork a minute later when Jesse Lingard's corner was headed in by Nemanja Matic but he was denied by the crossbar.
After squandering so many chances, United finally went ahead in the 75th minute when Ashley Young's free-kick was palmed as far as Mason Greenwood who shifted the ball from his right to left before firing the ball into the net for his second successive goal.
United next face Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday 25th July at the Hongkou Stadium in Shanghai.
