Zambian side Green Eagles clinched bronze at the ongoing CECAFA Kagame Cup following a 2-0 win over AS Maniema in the third and fourth playoff played on Sunday at Kigali Stadium.
Eagles came into the Match looking to get back to winning ways after their semifinal loss to KCCA. Coach Aggrey Chiyangi made three changes to his starting line up with Justin Munyikwa, Edward Mwamba and Samson Chilupe being given starting berths.
Edward Mwamba opened the scores in the 28th minute after benefiting from an Amity Shamende strike. Amity Shamende then added a second twenty minutes to time to conclude a comfortable two-nil win.
The victory means Eagles will pocket $10 000 from the tournament for finishing third.
