Green Eagles head coach Aggrey Chiyangi believes his side is lucky to have been invited for the 2019 CECAFA Kagame Cup competition.
Chiyangi who led his team to a third-place finish explained that his team played six international friendly matches which they could have not managed had they not been invited for the annual inter-club competition.
"It was a tough match and we knew it was not going to be easy. We have learned a lot of lessons. The competition was very tough and all the teams we faced have helped us prepare for the games we will play in the CAF Champions League," he said.
"We are so lucky that we were invited to this tournament, We have played six International friendlies which if we were at home we wouldn't have managed so I think coming here has really helped us and going back home the team will appreciate what has happened."
"Rwanda is a good country with friendly people. Wherever we went we did not have any problems."
Chiyangi also stressed that his side needed to work on their conversion rate and their defense. Eagles created a lot of chances but failed to utilize them while they conceded a number of early goals.
"Generally the team needs to work on a lot of things as a team we need to work more on the defense and upfront we need to do more. We created a lot of chances and failed to score. We will be playing International games which require a lot of mental strength so we will work on that, " he said.
"We could have done much better but this is football even when you don't win you have to accept, " he added.
The Choma side was using the tournament to prepare for the CAF Champions league. They will start their campaign with a tricky fixture against PSL giants Orlando Pirates.
