The Kenya Women Premier League entered its week 16 this past weekend with a chunk of goals being scored all across different pitches in the nation.
In the goal-scoring charts, Harambee Starlets and Vihiga Queens forward Terry Engesha leads with 24 goals from 16 matches played this season with three of those goals coming from the penalty spot.
Her contributions amounts for 42% of the total number of goals scored by Vihiga Queens this season and she will hope she can transfer the same form to the national ladies team.
But Engesha can’t stop on her laurels as Kisumu All Starlets’ Mercy Airo is just a goal-shy with 23 none of which have come from the spot. Her mercurial form has seen her handed her first call up to the national team that is currently preparing to face Malawi in the 2020 Olympic Qualifiers.
A known face in Mwanahalima Adam alias Dogo is creeping closely with the player having recorded 21 goals to her name with Thika Queens; this being the same number of goals as Trans Nzoia Falcons’ Tumaini Waliaula.
Vihiga Queens’ Topistar Situma completes the top five best scorers after finding the back of the net 19 times this season.
