Zidane ‘hurt’ after Atletico Madrid humiliation 

Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane admitted he was ‘hurt’ after his side lost 7-3 to rivals Atletico Madrid in a pre-season friendly. 

Madrid, in their new jersey, were thrashed by Atletico with former Chelsea forward Diego Costa netting four goals before he was shown a red card. Atleti’s new signing was also on target Joao Felix was also on target for his new side before the Los Blancos made a comeback from 6-0 down. 

"I'm not concerned, but I'm hurt," Zidane told the club’s official website.

"You don't play to lose. But we can't be looking backward. It was a bad game and now we have to focus on what went wrong, so we can try and make sure it doesn't happen again in the next match. We don't need to dwell on it, this is a pre-season game. They were better in every respect and that's all there is to it."
