Kenyan Premier League side Bandari FC has appointed Ibrahim Shikanda as their new assistant head coach according to reports from the Coast.
Shikana who was in charge of Bungoma Super Stars before his new role and will be a valued addition to Bernard Mwalala whose charges will be representing Kenya in the CAF Confederations Cup.
Prior to his appointment, Shikanda had been linked with the vacant job at Kenyan Premier League side Nzoia Sugar FC who has no recognize head coach after Godfrey Oduor left the club to join KCB as an assistant coach.
Apart from Super Stars, Shikanda has previously worked at Nairobi Stima as a head coach and had a stint with Tanzania side Azam FC as an assistant coach between 2008 to 2013.
A household name in the Kenyan soccer scene, Shikanda began his career in the youth side of Tusker FC and was promoted to the club’s senior side in 2003.
After two years at Tusker in the KPL, he crossed to Mumias Sugar where he left in the summer of 2007 to sign for Uganda’s Rock Star before signing for Azam at the beginning of 2008.
