Two Premier League players and one German-based of Nigerian descent have been called up to the Golden Eaglets squad ahead of the 2017 Fifa U17 World Cup.
Chelsea striker Adrian Akande, Bournemouth goalkeeperJoseph Oluwabusola and SV Eintracht Trier 05 keeper Armin Olayo were called up for national duty by Nigeria U17 coach Manu Garba.
Akande and Oluwabusola were part of 2019 U17 Africa Cup of Nations squad but were unused substitutes in all matches played.
As for Olayo, he was extensively scouted by Golden Eaglets coaches and the Technical Committee of the Nigerian Federation before he was handed a maiden invitation to the Nigeria team.
In addition to abovementioned players, West Ham United's Daniel Jinadu will be hoping to impress the coaches during the preparations in Abuja for a place in the final squad set to travel to Brazil for the tournament.
Nigeria who have won the title five times will take on Hungary, Ecuador, and Australia in Group B of the FIFA U17 World Cup which begins on October 26, 2019.
