Three free agent strikers who could solve United's striking worries

The transfer window for Premier League clubs closed on Thursday night, with no major big deals concluded on the day as clubs raced against time to capture their targets.

Premier League clubs, however, have the chance to sign and register free agents between now and September 2 when the final 25-man squads for the season are published.

Manchester United lost Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan on deadline day, and they might do with a free agent to help ease their striking worries with Marcus Rashford the only regular striker at the club.

We take a look at some of the top strikers who are available.

1. Fernando Llorente

Llorente is a free man having left Tottenham Hotspur after his contract expired on July 1st. The Spaniard, 34, has never nailed a starting role at the London club, with Harry Kane and Son playing ahead of him. He has been linked with a move to Manchester United and could be the right backup for Rashford upfront.

2. Daniel Sturridge

The 29-year-old's career has been riddled with injuries, which have affected his general development and growth. He was let go by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who has an array of attacking talent at his disposal. Age is catching up with him, but he still got a few seasons in him, preferably as a bit-part player

3. Mario Balotelli

The ex-Manchester City and Inter Milan man has been a sojourner. He was recently released by Merseile and is currently a free agent. He has been linked with a move to Brazilian side Flamengo, but if not, he can provide a solution upfront for manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
