Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals how talks with Harry Maguire inspired win over Chelsea

After recently acquiring the services of Harry Maguire for £80 million from Leicester City, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed Manchester United coaches spoke specifically to the defender to prepare him for their new style of play.

United opened the season with a bang after a 4-0 thumping of Chelsea as Maguire was named the official man of the match and Solskjaer presided over a first clean sheet since February 24. The 26-year-old cleared the ball more times than any other player, completed the most interceptions and clocked up an 86 percent passing accuracy on his debut.

Speaking in a press conference after the win over Chelsea, Solskjaer spoke on Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Maguire's debut, "They slotted in really well. Harry's had three or four sessions with the team but he's such an experienced pro that wants to learn.

"We've had a couple of talks with him about how we want to play, how he normally defends, how he normally plays, so that'll only improve. And Aaron is so aggressive, doesn't wanna get beat by tackles, so he's a proper Man United defender."
