Despite thumping Chelsea 4-0 in their English Premier League opener, Manchester United debutant Harry Maguire admitted that they were lucky in the first half.
Chelsea started brilliantly and hit the upright inside the opening four minutes when Tammy Abraham's shot beat David De Gea but was denied by the post. United went ahead in the 17th minute when Marcus Rashford converted a penalty after Kurt Zouma brought him down. Emerson Palmieri also found the woodwork in the first half.
Speaking after his debut, Maguire spoke on the game, "It's a great start for myself and the team. We rode our luck a bit in the first half but in the second half we were a lot better and I think we thoroughly deserved the three points. I was reiterating on the pitch even at 3-0 and 4-0 that we wanted a clean sheet.
"We have to make this place a fortress and a hard place to come and score."
