Orlando Pirates star Thembinkosi Lorch is reportedly targeted by clubs in Belgium and France.
Following the 2018/19 season where Lorch helped himself to the Absa Premiership Player’s Player of the Season and Footballer of the Season, an iconic goal for Bafana Bafana against Egypt at AFCON2019, it is no surprise “Nyoso” is mentioned in the office meetings of European clubs.
While it was previously reported that the Pirates star is followed by Percy Tau’s former club RUGS in Belgium, the latest news to emerge say that the 26-year-old has further caught the interest of Club Brugge, as well as two teams in France’s Ligue 1 where the likes of Bongani Zungu, Lebohang Mathobi, Keagan Dolly and Lebohang Phiri play their football.
“There are two clubs from France and one from Belgium that have joined the race for Thembinkosi Lorch’s services. One of the clubs in Percy Tau’s current team – Club Brugge,” confirmed a source to Soccer Laduma’s Masebe Qina.
“The other two clubs showing interest are Dijon from France, as well as Toulouse, which is also from there. However, all the clubs haven’t been able to reach an agreement with Pirates with their offers.”
“None of the three clubs has seemingly made an offer deemed best enough for Pirates to sell the player. The boy would be happy if Pirates could give him the club’s blessings and allow him to go and further his career overseas before the transfer window closes at the end of the month,” the source concluded.
Meanwhile, Lorch is expected to return to full fitness as Pirates take on Highlands Park in Saturday’s MTN8 quarter-final in Soweto.
