New Sofapaka head coach Divaldo Alves has been impressed by his charges improvement since he took over the reins of the team.
The tactician whose first friendly game in charge ended in a 1-1 draw with National Super League side Ushuru FC on Thursday at the Ruaraka Complex said they deserved more in the game but will need to improve in certain areas.
“The players are improving a lot since I came in. In the first half we enjoyed to see us playing football, trying to put our crosses, put into details what we have worked on and I am happy we are coming up step by step,” the tactician stated in the club’s website.
“We deserved to score more because we had the chances. We were 1-0 in the first half which was good enough but in the second half, we had some very simple mistakes which saw us concede. I think this is a word to the players that we need to eliminate these kinds of mistakes because the league starts soon.”
The coach further admitted that they will need to do better offensively and improve on their defensive movement in their games.
“There are several things we need to work on; we need to be better offensively but biggest of all we need to improve in our defensive movements. That is one thing I have looked at what we need to improve on majorly,” the Portuguese added.
Sofapaka begins their 2019/20 KPL season with a tie against Posta Rangers.
