Pep Guardiola explains what led to touchline bust-up with Aguero

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has moved to dispel rumours that there is a major fallout between him and Sergio Aguero, following Saturday's touchline burst up.

The Argentine was withdrawn on the 66th minute during the tie against Tottenham with both teams tied at 2-2 and was visibly angry as he was captured on camera in a heated debate with his manager.

Guardiola has however moved to rubbish the rumors, saying he 'loves' Aguero as a player, and the matter was only a small 'misunderstanding'.

"He believes that I was upset with him for the goal we conceded but that was a corner," said Guardiola.

"It was a one versus one movement. He thought I was upset with him, I am animated but I was a player, I know what it's like. We talked after and during, I love him a lot as a player."

Aguero was named in the starting lineup after missing out in the opening tie against West Ham, and he repaid his manager's trust with the second goal against Spurs.

The visitors, however, equalized midway through the second half through Lucas Moura and Gabriel Jesus's last-minute strike was canceled after a VAR check as the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
