Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that he has a "professional relationship" with Lionel Messi and is looking forward to dine with him before retiring.
Both players have won the trophy on five occasions - a record highest - and dominated the award between 2008-2017 before Luka Modric broke their duopoly. Ronaldo and Messi were rivals for close to a decade when they turned out for Real Madrid and Barcelona before the Portuguese made the switch to Juventus.
In an interview with TV1, Ronaldo spoke on his relationship with Messi, "I have an excellent professional relationship [with Messi] because we have been sharing the same moments for 15 years. We've never had dinner together but I don't see why we can't in the future. I don't see a problem with that."
