🔴 The four best players to represent both Liverpool & Arsenal in the Premier League era

This fixture has delivered more total goals than any other in Premier League history, so there's no wonder why so much excitement surrounds the buildup to Liverpool vs Arsenal each and every year.

In 54 EPL meetings, these two giants have produced 155 goals, numerous thrills and spills and some title0winning moments. You can relive some of the classic clashes between the sides but which four players have represented both clubs with distinction?

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

The Ox has struggled with injury problems throughout his young career, but there is no doubt about his talent.

Arsenal signed him up as a teenager from Southampton for £12m deal in 2011 and although he showed flashes of brilliance in North London, he could never hold down a regular first-team slot. However, he did win three FA Cups with the Gunners for whom he scored 20 goals in 198 games.

Liverpool came knocking in 2017, signing The Ox in a £35m deal. He thrived in a box-to-box role in but an ACL injury against Roma in the Champions League semifinal curtailed his season. Encouragingly, Ox is back to full fitness now and has signed a new deal at the club

🇮🇱 Yossi Benayoun

The popular Israeli playmaker is the only player to have scored a hat-trick in the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League. His versatility and high work ethic made him one of the first names on the team sheet under Rafa Benitez at Anfield, and he scored 11 goals in his first campaign at the club after a move from West Ham in 2007.

Benayoun left for Chelsea in 2010 but he wasn't a regular at Stamford Bridge and needed a move to reignite his career. A loan move to Arsenal in 2011 seemed a good compromise for all parties, with Benayoun's versatility again coming to the fore as he helped an Arsenal side in transition to 4th place with his six goals in 25 appearances in a variety of midfield roles.

🇨🇮 Kolo Touré

Ivorian veteran Kolo Toure turned out to be one of the bargains of the millennium when Arsène Wenger signed him from Asec Mimosa in 2006 for 356k.

Kolo played a crucial role in the club’s Invincibles season of 2003/04, forming a rock-solid partnership in the centre of defence with Sol Campbell. He also scooped two FA Cups in his seven years at the club.

A move to Manchester City followed but Touré couldn't hold down a regular place in a star-studded side. His free transfer to Anfield in 2013 proved to be a shrewd piece of business by Brendan Rodgers, who utilized his versatility and experience to great effect.

🇫🇷 Nicolas Anelka

In 1997, Arsène Wenger pulled off a massive bargain by signing Nicolas Anelka for £500,000. The talented yet temperamental French striker played a crucial role, scoring in the FA Cup final as the Gunners sealed a domestic league and cup double.

In his second full season, Anelka won the PFA Young Player of the Year award after hitting 17 Premier League goals. However, just two years after his arrival at Highbury, Anelka moved to Real Madrid for £22.3m.

Anelka returned to the Premier League with a loan spell at Liverpool during the 2001/02 season, scoring four goals in 20 league appearances at Anfield.
