Belgian based Zambia national team striker Fashion Sakala believes that his clubs 2-1 win over the weekend has given them the confidence to keep working hard.
Sakala scored the opening goal for KV Oostende who managed a 2-1 win over KV Mechelen in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League. The brought to an end a two-game losing streak and Sakala praised the hard work put in by his teammates to put an end to the losing streak.
"It was a very good game, Each and every player fought hard. We really worked hard the whole week and we really wanted the victory because we lost the past two games so we really worked hard, We really wanted the win I think it has given us more confidence to continue working hard," he told KV Oostende media after the match.
"I am happy to score and I think the goal helped the team to have confidence, The coach the whole week kept telling me that I would score against Mechelen so I remembered after scoring and I decided to go to him and say thank, " he added.
The former Zanaco Forward is happy with his football this season as Kåre Hedley Ingebrigtsen is encouraging him to be more adventurous which suits his game.
" Am very happy because I have more freedom. Last season I was playing more defensive but this season is playing more in attack so am very happy and the coach always tells me to go forward and attack which is my kind of play and I like that," he said.
Sakala is expected to join the Zambia U23 national team camp this coming weekend as they prepare to face with Congo Brazzaville in a 2019 Egypt U23 AFCON qualifier at Heroes Stadium on September 4th.
