The North London Derby is one of the biggest occasions on the Premier League calendar each season, and this one will be no different.
🏟 Arsenal/Spurs combined best XI
Lloris; Maitland-Niles, Alderweireld, Sokratis, Rose; Ndombele, Torreira; Son, Eriksen, Aubameyang; Kane
BENCH: Leno, Vertonghen, Winks, Sissoko, Ceballos, Pepe, Lacazette
We've gone for World Cup-winning skipper Hugo Lloris in goal, despite a bit of inconsistency towards the back-end of last season. Bernd Leno is a talented shot-stopper in Arsenal's goal but is still learning the English game.
Young Englishman Ainsley Maitland-Niles has started this campaign well for Arsenal, overlapping on the right flank with pace and positional awareness. Fellow Englishman Danny Rose is a marauding presence on the other flank for Tottenham. In the centre of defence, the dependable and versatile tough-tackler Toby Alderweireld is an easy pick, alongside aggressive Greek defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
We've gone with a controversial central midfield pairing, with Arsenal's tenacious Uruguayan Lucas Torreira starting here despite not starting any of Arsenal's games so far this season. He scored as a substitute at Anfield and also scored Arsenal's 4th goal in last season's 4-2 win. Torreira was dismissed in the 1-1 draw at Tottenham, showing that he's always a central figure when the heat goes up a notch. Spurs new man Tanguy Ndombele has been excellent in his first few games in North London, showing an all-round game, although he's carrying a knock and is a slight doubt for Sunday's showdown.
A fearsome front three of Son Heung-min, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Harry Kane would give any defence nightmares, with Christian Eriksen supplying the chances for them. Will the Denmark star start this Sunday? What do you think of our combined XI?
