Harambee Starlets forward forward confident of toppling Malawi

Harambee Starlets forward Mwanahalima Adam is confident that her team can topple Malawi when both teams meet for their second leg of the 2020 Olympic Qualifiers in Machakos on Sunday.

Adam was a constant threat for the Malawians in the first leg in Blantyre when they lost 3-2 and stated that scoring two goals away from home gives them the motivation that they can go all the way.

“It was tough playing away from home but we pushed ourselves and picked up something from the match.

“I am asking all our fans to stand with us as much as the match will be behind closed doors. It won’t be easy but we are motivated to get a win,” Alima is quoted by Football Kenya Federation on their website.

Assistant coach

On her part Assistant coach Jackeline Juma added: “The two away goals are a motivation for us to win it here. We are looking forward to a win and I am confident we will get it.”

The match is set to be played on Sunday 1 September at the Machakos Stadium starting at 3 pm without fans as CAF has only the MISC Kasarani as the only ground in the country that can host continental games.

Should Starlets pass the Malawi test, they will have either of Ghana or Gabon in the third round of the qualifiers.
