Zambia U23 national team have booked their place at the Egypt U23 AFCON following a dramatic hard-fought 3-3 draw with Congo Brazzaville.
Zambia went into the match with a 2-1 advantage while the home team had an away goal to their name. Coach Beston Chambeshi made four changes to his starting line up going with a more defensive-minded line-up.
The Red Devils settled quickly and were awarded a penalty just after 12 minutes, Mbenza Kamboleke stepped up and put the hosts in the lead, A goal that meant had the match ended that way they would progress on away goals rule.
The lead did not last long however as Enock 'Computer' Mwepu scored a leveled matters after being set up with a beautiful defense splitting pass from midfield.
In the second stanza the 'Bola na Lesa' Boys started well and six minutes into the second half, Patson Daka put Zambia ahead for the first time in the match as they went 2-1 up. The drama, however, came in the last fifteen minutes.
Jacques Temopele leveled matters in the 77th minute before Moukodja Gaius made it 3-2 three minutes later. With Congo Brazzaville needing only a goal to qualify Enock Mwepu scored his second of the afternoon to send Zambia to the tournament 5-4 on aggregate.
