Gor Mahia travelling team to Algiers named

Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia has named the team that will represent them in the CAF Champions League First round tie against USM Algers in Algeria this weekend.

The Gor Mahia will be leaving the country for Algeria tomorrow (Thursday) at midnight aboard Qatar Airways according to information on their handles with the Caf Champions League clash slated for Saturday 14 September from 7pm EAT.

The team has a total of 16 players making the trip with head coach Steven Polack picking two keepers in David Mapigano and Boniface Oluoch.

There is no place for Shafiq Batambuze with the player still nursing an injury with the coach picking new acquisition defender Maurice Ojwang as part of the defence.

The Defenders

Wellington Ochieng, Joash Onyango, Geoffrey Ochieng, Charles Momanyi are some of the defenders that have made the trip.

Captain Kenneth Muguna leads the midfield contingent that has Ernest Wendo, Tobias Otieno and Dickson Ambundo. Nicholas Kipkurui, Lawrence Juma and Boniface Omondi are just but some of the attackers in the team.

Apart from Polack, part of the technical bench has team manager Jolawi Obondi, Fredrick Otieno and George Omondi.

The Football Kenya Federation has sent Nyanza NEC representative Joseph Andere to accompany the team to Algeria.
