Orlando Pirates star Thembinkosi Lorch has explained why he is still in Mzansi after getting offers to move to Europe.
Lorch, being the PSL Footballer of the season was unsurprisingly wanted by three abroad clubs. Two Ligue 1 sides, as well as RUGS in Belgium, went as far as making contact with Pirates. But the 26-year-old has stayed in Soweto.
“I had offers from clubs overseas, but I think the offers were not good for both the team and me,” Lorch told Soccer Laduma.
Offering hardly any words of disappointment, the Bloemfontein-born player quickly looked ahead to his present job at Pirates. He added that he has been told by unnamed coaches he needs to add more goals to his football.
“I have a contract with Pirates and I have to focus and play as well as do my best. I have had some coaches telling me that I need to score more goals and things like that, but I feel I have done my part.”
“I don’t have to prove (anything) to anyone. I just have to play my football and help the team to win games,” Lorch concluded.
Meanwhile, the Buccaneers will be in action this weekend at home to Chippa United in Soweto on Saturday at 15:00.
