Alexis Sanchez believes things would have gone differently if only he was given more playing time at Manchester United.
The attacker arrived from Arsenal high on expectations to succeed but found the going tough as injuries coupled with a lot of change the club was undergoing saw him flop dramatically.
He finally switched United for Inter Milan during the summer transfer window, as he searched for a chance to kick-start his stuttering career.
Speaking to ESPN, the Chile international indicated he would have faired on well at the club if only the managers trusted him more.
"Lukaku and I trained very well," said Sanchez.
"But we needed to play more in games to get to our best. It wasn't the right time for us to be in Manchester. Too many changes. When you change that much, it's tough.
Sanchez was a shadow of himself during his stay at Old Trafford, managing a paltry three league goals in an 18-month spell at United, following his move from the Gunners in January 2018.
He hopes to rediscover his form under Antonio Conte, and have started the league well having won two of their opening matches so far in Serie A.
