AFC Leopards head coach Cassa Mbungo admitted that his striker Ismaila Diara didn’t have a good game in their week two Kenyan Premier League (KPL) affair against Kariobangi Sharks.
Diara had been given a starting nod in the game but was withdrawn at half time with the Leopards having a better performance when he went off.
Coach Mbungo while addressing the media after the game said the Malian will need more games to come good for the club and termed their display was an improvement from their opening day loss at the hands of Homeboyz.
“It’s an improvement from how we played against Kakamega Homeboys in our opener. It will take time for the team to gel but not to every player. Adaptation from each player is different and there are some who are already at per with the rest. Diara didn’t have a good game today but I know he will come good after more game,” Mbungo said.
Challenging for the Title
Asked if he thought they had a team to challenge for the title, the Rwandese said it was too early to predict but the difference in points between them and the leading team gave him some hope.
“With my calculation, the leading team has like four points so we are within reach. It's too early to predict how the season will go but all we are after is to play well and try and win the league,” he opined.
Next for Leopards is a trip to Bukhungu Stadium where they will be up against newbies Wazito FC.
