The Champions League is back and we've got all you need to know to make some bets on the action. At Futaa Bets, we have a number of bets that are popular on bet254 and we'd like to share them here.
First, tonight's fixtures.
Lyon vs Zenit St. Petersburg
Five of Lyon’s last seven Champions League matches have seen over 3.5 goals, and six of those matches have featured goals at both ends. Lyon is winless in three Ligue 1 matches and Zenit hasn’t drawn any of their last 19 away matches in Europe.
Ajax vs Lille
Last season’s semifinalists Ajax have lost their two key players, and Lille lost their key man Nicolas Pepe to Arsenal so both sides are in a rebuilding phase. Both sides scored in three of Ajax’s last four games and we are backing that outcome on matchday 1.
Napoli vs Liverpool
Reigning European champions Liverpool visit Serie A’s second-best side from last season, Napoli, in a repeat of last season’s group stages. Napoli has won just four of their last nine Champions League matches at home. Usually defensively sturdy, they’ve conceded seven goals in three Serie A matches this season. We can see Liverpool scoring early and that should open up the contest.
Benfica vs RB Leipzig
Both sides have scored in three consecutive Leipzig matches, and the German side is undefeated in four matches this season in the Bundesliga. Benfica has also started their domestic season strongly, winning four from five. The Portuguese side was defeated twice by German opposition in the group stages last season, and they succumbed to Eintracht Frankfurt on away goals in the Europa League quarterfinals. The visitors will be eyeing a point at worst here.
Chelsea vs Valencia
Chelsea kicks off their Champions League campaign here against Spanish side Valencia. They’ve not yet kept a clean sheet in the Premier League this season but Tammy Abraham has scored seven goals in his last three top-flight clashes in England. He’s the man to watch.
Borussia Dortmund vs Barcelona
Dortmund has scored 13 goals in four Bundesliga matches this season, backing up the fact that they’re a strong attacking side. Barcelona has started their LaLiga title defence in a shaky manner, conceding seven goals in their first four games. There should be plenty of chances at either end here.
Salzburg vs Genk
Salzburg has won all seven of their domestic league encounters this season, scoring a whopping average of 5.25 goals per match in the process. Genk has found the net in 29 of their last 30 European fixtures, so we are expecting a home win for the team-in form but goals at both ends.
