Bandari FC came from two goals down to beat Zoo Kericho 3-2 in an entertaining Kenya Premier League clash played at the Mbaraki Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
Bandari were playing their first match of the season at their grounds, and for the first half, it seemed the match would end in a disappointment.
Two goals in a space of five minutes in the first half gave the visitors a 2-0 lead going into the break, before the hosts turned tables in the second half.
Collins Neto gave zoo the opening goal on the 15th minute, despite the hosts threatening from time to time.
Neto was at it again five minutes later, capitalizing on a defensive lapse to double Zoo's lead.
The hosts then poured forward in search of a goal, and their frontline, Yema in particular, kept on knocking but the visitors' defense repelled time and again.
Bandari came close to pulling one back on the 35th minute, but David Kingatua's shot kissed the post and went out after beautiful team play involving Felly Mulumba, Agade, Wadri and Shaban Kenga.
Bandari came back for the second half with real intent and took the lead two minutes after the restart through Danson Namasaka's long shot.
The visitors were caught napping again a minute later, this time Yema Mwana finding the back of the net to restore parity.
Yema thought he had given the hosts the lead on the 63rd minute, but his goal was disallowed after he was adjudged to have been in an offside position.
Bandari took the lead in the match for the very first time on the 74th minute, 'Messi' Agege scoring on his debut to the delight of the huge home crowd.
There was little action after the third goal, with the hosts happy to run rings around the visitors as they ran down the clock.
Agege showed why Bandari were desperate to acquire his signature, with his runs a worry for the visitors' defense.
The match ended 3-2 in favoure of the hosts, who will travel to face Sony Sugar next.
