After captaining Manchester United to victory against FC Astana, Nemanja Matic has revealed that he would like to wear the armband again.
Matic and Marcus Rashford were the only two players to keep their place in the starting line up following the weekend win over Leicester as Solskjaer made plenty of changes. Mason Greenwood netted in the second half to ensure United kicked off their Europa League campaign with a win.
Speaking after the victory, Matic revealed that he would like to captain United again, "It is great to be the captain. To be the captain of Manchester United is something special, and there is a lot of responsibility. I am very, very proud because of that and I hope that it is not the last time.
"It is a big responsibility and I am proud of that. There were a lot of young guys in the squad, I think after Sergio Romero I was the oldest in the team. It is strange for me, but this is the life."
In the absence of David de Gea and Ashley Young, Matic was handed the armband.
