Wazito FC will have to do without the services of Derrick Onyango when they face AFC Leopards on Saturday at the Bukhungu Stadium after he failed to recover from a foot injury.
Onyango is expected to be out for up to two weeks, following an injury he picked after coming on as a second-half substitute against Western Stima last time out.
Team physio Noel Mandi confirmed that their number 9 will not be ready for action anytime soon, having missed training for a number of days now.
“Derrick is out of AFC Leopards match. He picked a foot injury against Western Stima and hasn’t trained with the rest of the team since then. He will be out for around two weeks or thereabout,” he said.
The club will also miss Joe Waithira, who is still recovering from a knock, and was forced to miss the Stima clash.
Other players who will miss the match are; Musa Masika, Joshua Nyatini and Bixente Otieno.
The trio is in Uganda with the Kenya U20 team for the 2019 Cecafa U20 Championship that kicks off on Saturday.
Wazito are currently placed 12th on the standings with two points, having drawn the opening two matches of the new Kenya Premier League campaign, while their opponents are 15th on a single point after a loss and a draw.
