Gor Mahia keeper trainer Willis Ochieng has reacted to an opinion piece about the state of the club’s keeper written earlier in the week.
While speaking to Futaa, Ochieng said: “Since I came to this club, we have won the title every single year and I don’t see people talking about that. We conceded the least goals last season but some people only come up with these blames when there is a blunder.”
Players in Training
The tactician further stated that his was to horn his players in training and leave the rest to them when they step on the pitch; the former Zoo Kericho trainer suggesting that times a lot depends on the defence.
“I train them (the keepers) and leave the rest to them when they step in to play. Yes, we conceded some silly goals in Algeria (against USM Algers) but you got to ask a lot about the defence too. It’s a combination of a lot of things and the blames can’t be entirely on the keepers and their trainer,” he added.
Ochieng will hope that the team can have a good outing when they take on KCB FC in their next league tie.
