Kenya U20 head coach Stanley Okumbi is confident that his team can lift the 2019 CECAFA U20 Championship.
Kenya will be up against group opponents Tanzania in the final and despite Okumbi hailing his boys for the journey thus far, he asserted that if they can give a good account of them in the final then they will emerge victorious.
“I must congratulate the boys for showing great character in all the matches we have played. The semifinal (against Eritrea) was specifically tougher but my players played their hearts out. I am pleased with our performance thus far.
“We have an even tougher challenge in the final and I am confident that if we give a good account of ourselves as we have done since the tournament started, we can take home a positive result,” Okumbi is quoted by on Football Kenya Federation website.
Both teams fought to a 2-2 draw in their group game with Tanzania coming second in Group B; Kenya yet to be beaten in the competition.
The final will be played on Saturday 5 October at the FUFA Technical Center, Jinja-Uganda from 4 pm EAT.
