Wazito FC head coach Fred Ambani is confident his team will match Mathare United when they meet in week five of the Kenyan Premier League action despite a growing list of injuries.
Wazito picked their first win of the season last week against Zoo Kericho and according to Ambani, they’ve been improving each passing day and the squad depth at his disposal gives him the luxury of selecting better players in positions where others are injured.
“We have a lot of injuries in the team. Joe Waithera is out, Elvis (Rupia) hasn’t recovered yet, Amos Asembeka and Kelvin Omondi are all out but at least the proper depth gives us the opportunity to find perfect replacements,” Ambani said.
No Easy Games
The tactician further stated that there were no easy games in the division and had a perfect plan in approaching the tie.
“There are no easy games in this division. Every game is a tricky affair and every coach knows how to approach the game according to their strength and the type of players they have. If you look at Mathare they play possession football and we have prepared to counter that to get the desired result.
“We have had problems in scoring. The two last games we’ve created a lot of chances and scored in the last game so it’s good progress for the team,” Ambani added.
The game is slated for a 3 pm Kick-Off on Saturday 5 October at the MISC Kasarani.
