Zambia U17 national team captain Miguel Chaiwa says the young Copper Bullets are not in Malawi to participate but to Compete.
The young Copper Bullets captain was speaking after the team arrived in Blantyre, Malawi on Wednesday afternoon. The Zambia U-17 national team is in Malawi for the 2019 COSAFA U17 Championships which kicks off tomorrow, Friday, October, 11th.
"We are ready for the tournament as usual because we have been working hard, thanks for the directors who have given us the word of encouragement, we are not there to participate but to compete," he said
"I just want to appreciate the technical Bench for the hard work after Being in Camp since May and we have been working hard, we thank God for the peace and joy he has given us for us to go and participate and the morale in Camp is very High," he added.
The team is composed of youth drawn from several provinces, all committed to ensuring Zambia remains at the helm of African football.
Zambia will open its campaign with a match against Eswatini on Saturday, 12th October 2019 before facing regional heavyweight rivals South Africa two days later and hosts Malawi in their final game on October 16.
