Taifa Stars depart for Rwanda

Tanzania national team Taifa Stars has departed for Rwanda where they are expected to play two matches against Rwanda and Sudan.

Stars will take on Rwanda on October 14 in Kigali in a friendly match which will be used to prepare the Tanzania team for the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier against Sudan. This will be the first-ever assignment for Etienne Ndayiragije as the head coach since replacing Emmanuel Amunike who was sacked by Tanzania Football Federation due to the team's poor performance during the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

Etienne named his 28-man squad ahead of the two matches with captain Mbwana Samatta headlining the selected players while goalkeepers Juma Kaseja of Kinondoni Municipal Council (KMC FC) and Metacha Mnata of Yanga SC have been selected ahead of Simba SC's number one Aishi Manula.
