Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette was offered to Zenit St-Petersburg over the summer by a Dmitry Cheltsov, a Russian Football agent.
Chelstov says he offered Lacazette to Zenit who has a £61million release clause but the Russian signed decided to sign Malcom from Barcelona instead. The Frenchman is in his third season with the north London club since joining from Lyon in 2017. Cheltsov also claimed that the 28-year-old had a £61m (€68m) release clause in his contract and that Zenit might be able to get him for around £45m, the same fee the Gunners paid two years ago.
"I offered Alexandre Lacazette to Zenit. Their sporting director Javier Ribalta said to me: ‘Are you crazy? His release clause is €68m," he told Sports Business Gazeta.
"I told him you can negotiate with Arsenal. I am sure they will be ready to accept something between €50m and €55m. His salary would be €7-8m after tax."
And as reported by football.london the Gunners had no intention of letting their forward leave, who has seen the back of the net twice before being sidelined with an injury.
