The first leg of the Mashemeji derby (a match pitting archrivals Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards) in the 2019/20 season is among the schedule amended by the Kenyan Premier League (KPL).
In a mail sent to newsrooms on Friday, KPL said that the match that was set to be played on November 9 will now take place a day later with Gor Mahia having been the home team.
Leopards will hope that the gap between them and their rivals is maintained at two points with the teams currently occupying the first and second spots respectively.
Sofapaka Home Games
Apart from the game, KPL said that 2009 champions Sofapaka FC have moved their home matches from Fridays to Sundays with their home ground remaining the Narok County Stadium.
KPL added that the fixture may be amended again on November 4 after the CAF Confederation Cup play-off matches which have Gor Mahia and Bandari as participants from Kenya.
Gor Mahia is slated to take on DR Congo’s FC Motema Pembe in the competition with Bandari having a date with Guinea’s Horoya.
In the league, Bandari will hope that they can improve on their eighth position with the team still having a team in hand.
