⚜️🇵🇹 Futaa Legends Series: European Champions Portugal

Futaa's new legends series takes a look back at some of the most iconic names in recent international football history.

We've selected a few stars that we most closely associate with the Portuguese national team and some special memories of them on the international stage.

☄️ Luís Figo

The ex-Barcelona man burned many bridges when he moves across Spain to their archrivals Real Madrid in but for Portugal, he remains an icon. The skilful winger wore the number 7 jersey with distinction, making 127 appearances and scoring 32 goals. However, he was more famous for his ability to create goals for teammates, and Figo won the Ballon d'Or in November 2000, just after sealing his controversial move to Madrid. He was also the man who handed over the famous number 7 to Cristiano Ronaldo.

🔮 Deco

Another of Barcelona's artists, Deco was a classic number 10 who possessed wonderful technical ability and vision. He enjoyed a trophy-laded career at Porto, Barcelona and Chelsea and is one of the select few footballers to win the Champions League with two different clubs.

Deco was a runner-up at Euro 2004 and placed fourth with Portugal in the World Cup in 2006.

🐐 Cristiano Ronaldo

The Juventus man is a modern-day football great. He's won everything there is to win in club football, including a record tally of five Champions League crowns, and he led Portugal to Euro 2016 glory three years ago, a day that goes down in the biggest one in the country's football history. With a record 161 caps and 94 goals, he's got his sights set on a century of international goals and it doesn't look like it'll take him long to reach that epic milestone.

Who will ever forget the part-manager role that Ronaldo performed in the Euro 2016 final against France after he went off injured early in the contest?
