Strikers Meddie Kagere and Jacques Tuyisenge are the only foreign-based players called to the Rwanda camp ahead of their friendly clash with Tanzania.
The former Gor Mahia duo is part of the 27-man squad called by head coach Vincent Mashami for the friendly match which will be staged on Monday 14 October at Stade de Kigali.
The coach decided against calling other foreign-based players as he is preparing his team for a tie against Ethiopia for a ticket to the 2020 African Nations Championships (CHAN) finals tournament.
Rwanda will go into the game with one foot already in the continental competition after winning the two sides’ first-leg 1-0 away in Ethiopia last month. CHAN is strictly designed for players who feature in their respective domestic leagues.
Mashami’s men will host the Walias of Ethiopia at Kigali Stadium on October 19, with a draw enough to see Rwanda qualify to the CHAN for a third successive time – and fourth overall.
