Ryan Giggs reveals Daniel James was acting after head collision

Following his head collision in the 1-1 draw against Croatia, Wales manager Ryan Giggs has claimed that Daniel James was acting.

James went down in the first half of the European Championship qualifier after colliding with Croatia defender Domagoj Vida and had to be treated for three minutes by the Welsh medical team before returning and completing the game. It initially appeared as though James had been knocked out in the challenge.

In an interview with Sky Sports after the game, Giggs claimed James was acting, "Dan James went down and stayed down with a bit of acting really, but the medical staff went over and he was compos mentis. Then at half-time we did all the (concussion) tests and he was fine."

In his post-match comments Giggs further added, "He stayed down, there was no problem and then at half time he passed all the tests. He told the doctors, 'I'm not moving, I'm just sitting still'. Not to get anyone sent off, he was just using his nous."
