Manchester United have reportedly opened talks with Barcelona over the transfer of Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitić.
According to Sport, the two sides are ready to do business in January, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer eager to revamp his side following poor results in recent weeks.
The 31-year-old has fallen out of favour at the Catalan club and has started a single match this campaign, playing a total of 186 minutes in six matches so far.
The report further claims that the Spanish side will demand a minimum of £34 million for the former Basel star.
The midfielder voiced his frustration over lack of playing time early last week, indicating he will be willing to move.
"It’s tough because I want to play and not just be part of the team," he said. "I will do everything possible to change my situation,"
"I have two years left on my deal and there’s no better place to play than Barcelona, the best club in the world, but I need to play and not just enjoy walks around the city and by the sea,"
"I spoke with people at the club, everyone knew I had other options. I want to fight so that the team see me ready to deliver on the pitch,"
He was one of the many players who had been linked with possible exits in the summer transfer window but decided to stick a little longer and fight for his place.
