Marcus Rashford scored a wonder goal to open the floodgates as England thumped Bulgaria 6-0 in a UEFA Qualifier match staged at the Stadion Vasil Levski stadium on Monday evening.
With the game just seven minutes old, the Manchester United forward took matters into his own hands after picking up the ball on the left-wing, beating off two players with ease, cutting in on his right before firing home into the top right-hand corner past Iliev.
A brace from Ross Barkley in the 20th and 32nd minute, another brace from Man City’s Raheem Sterling on 45th and 69th minute and a goal from captain Harry Kane five minutes from time was to complete the route for the visitors.
The game though was marred with monkey chants and racist behaviour from the home fans with the game halted twice to address the situation.
Rashford will hope he can continue in the same vein when his United host Liverpool at Old Trafford in their next league game next Sunday.
