Gor Mahia captain notes improvements in Stars display despite Mozambique loss

Gor Mahia captain Kenneth Muguna believes Kenya had a good display despite their Sunday loss at the hands of Mozambique in a friendly clash staged at the MISC Kasarani.

Muguna admits it is hard to convince the fans that they had a good game going by the result but believes the outing was an improvement from their last outing against Uganda Cranes.

“It's difficult for the fans to see any positives from the game because of the result but compared with the game we had against Uganda; I think there was an improvement. I think we had the confidence from the first minute and the only thing that missed in the game was goals,” Muguna told Futaa.

Bad Show

Muguna, however, admitted that it's always a bad show to lose at home in front of the fans and felt they were punished for not taking their chances.

“It’s a bad thing to lose at home in front of your own fans. I don’t think we were aggressive enough in the final third and they punished us for not taking our chances,” Muguna added.

The former Western Stima man will hope for a better outing when Stars open their 2012 AFCON Qualifiers against Egypt next month in Cairo.
