Tottenham Hotspurs have resigned goalkeeper Michael Vorm for the rest of the season in their bid to replace injured goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
Vorm has rejoined Tottenham after leaving them in the summer at the end of his contract but as a free agent has been able to re-sign outside the transfer window.
A statement on the club’s website noted: “We are delighted to announce the signing of Michel Vorm on a contract until the end of the season.
“The experienced goalkeeper returns to us having departed in June this year, following the conclusion of his previous contract.
“Initially joining us in 2014 from Swansea City, the Dutch international made 47 appearances in all competitions over the next five seasons, serving as a reliable understudy to Hugo Lloris.”
On his part, Vorm said: "I’m happy to be back. I’ve been here for five seasons already, so for me, it’s just coming home."
Spurs have endured a difficult run of recent results, eliminated from the Carabao Cup on penalties by Colchester, losing at Leicester and Brighton in the league and 7-2 at home to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
The keeper has once again been handed jersey number 13.
