Ahead of Liverpool's clash at Old Trafford, James Milner has trolled Manchester United joking that he would willingly throw one of the club's shirts into a fire.
Milner bagged a last gasp winner in Liverpool's last outing against Leicester City that maintained the club's 100% start to the season. The midfielder has played for United's greatest rivals over the years after turning out for Leeds United, Manchester City and now Liverpool.
In an interview with BT Sport's What I Wore, Milner was asked to select a shirt with which he associates a fond memory as well as another shirt purely for stylistic reasons, Milner grabbed a 2009-10 United shirt and laughed: "Well, that one's getting thrown into the fire!"
Milner has never been shy to express his hate for United as he last year revealed his feelings towards the club, "Growing up a Leeds fan, I was never allowed to wear a red T-shirt, my old man never allowed it. Seriously. 'We can't wear red. We're Leeds'.
"It was strange when I signed for Liverpool, actually wearing red. My dad made a joke about it, saying, 'That's the first time I've seen you in red'. I still follow Leeds and want them to do well and still have that same feeling towards Manchester United."
