Jurgen Klopp believes that the media coverage in the build-up to Liverpool's game on Sunday has been designed to hand Manchester United an advantage.
The two teams head into the encounter in contrasting fashion as Liverpool have won all their games this season and sit at the summit of the log while United have had the worst start to an English Premier League season, winning only two games thus far and sit 12th on the log only two points above the relegation places.
Klopp believes that writing off United is a tactic by the media to hand Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side an advantage, "People are trying to create it as a banana skin. They are trying to make it as we're THE team and United are nobody.
"So that is the situation that everyone creates: that we are so good and they have so many problems, they cannot play football anymore, we are flying, all this stuff. I saw all these things and it looks like they want to help Man Utd.
"All these articles look like they have been written by Man Utd supporters. A banana skin, a joke. I saw the combined team. Would I have found it insulting if it were us? Yes."
