Nigeria international Alex Iwobi was in action when his Everton side beat West Ham United 2-0 at the Goodison Park on Saturday.
Everton returned from the international break to claim the victory that took them out of the bottom three, thanks to goals from Bernard and Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Brazilian winger Bernard opened the scoring for the hosts in the 17th minute from a tight angle after he was set up by Theo Walcott, before Sigurdsson, who was an 87th-minute substitute for Iwobi, scored the winner in the 90th minute.
Iwobi, 23, has made seven league appearances for the Toffees and scored once.
Everton has now moved to 13th position on the English Premier League table with ten points from nine matches.
