Former Super Eagles coach Jo Bonfrere has blamed attackers for Nigeria's inability to qualify for the 2020 African Nations Championship.
Nigeria beat Togo 2-0 in the second leg of the final qualifying round but fell 4-3 on aggregate after suffering a 4-1 defeat in the first leg.
Bonfrere faulted the attackers for not converting their chances.
“The wingers were very good and were mesmerizing the Togolese defence, but they didn’t take advantage of that, rather deciding to play long balls that were ineffective.”
Bonfrere, 73, guided Nigeria to its victory in the 1996 Olympic Games.
