CECAFA: Kenya land Uganda in group

The rivalry between Kenya and Uganda will be renewed in the 2019 CECAFA Senior Women Challenge Cup with both countries landing in the same group.

Uganda’s Crested Cranes and Kenya’s Harambee Starlets are in Group B together with Ethiopia and Djibouti in what is considered the group of death.

Group A will have defending Champions and hosts Tanzania, Burundi, Zanzibar and debutants South Sudan with the tournament set to be held between 14th to 23rd November 2019 in Dar es Salaam.

Opening Campaign

Starlets will open her campaign against Ethiopia at the Chamazi Complex on 15th November. The David Ouma coached charges then take Djibouti in their second game before wrapping up their group proceedings with Uganda.

The best two teams from each group will progress to the semifinals to be played on 21st November while the third-place playoff and the final is slated for Saturday 23rd November at Chamanzi Stadium.

Starlets will be hoping for revenge after Uganda overcame them by a solitary goal in the last competition hosted in Rwanda.
