😤 Niko Kovac laments Bayern's poor performance against Bochum

Bayern Munich were on the verge of being eliminated from the DFB-Pokal against Bochum who are currently 16th on the log in Bundesliga 2 as reported by Goal.

Bayern manager Niko Kovac had a go at his side for what he deemed a bad attitude in the game after they needed a last-minute opportunity to beat Bochum 2-1 on Tuesday night.

The Bundesliga champions were reportedly the favourites in the second round of the league cup but Alphonso Davies' first-half own goal almost cost them the next round.

Kovac's charges needed a quick stroke of luck and they got that in the form of Serge Gnabry who scored the equaliser in the 83rd minute to motivate them further - Thomas Muller scored the winning goal.

"It was all wrong for 60, 70 minutes," Kovac said.

"The fact that we played so many bad passes, in my opinion, has something to do with the attitude ... it has nothing to do with tactics. It has to do with the attitude.

"There were too many players who played bad passes."

"After Philippe Coutinho and Thomas Muller came on, things improved," he said.

"And in the end, we got that little bit of luck against Bochum, who really played so well."

Muller told Sky: "It's a real joy to score the winning goal in a knockout game. It was a big relief. But with the big picture, we cannot be happy. It doesn't help to speak and speak and speak."
